Human Basigin (BSG) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human basigin (BSG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Also known by synonyms such as CD147, EMMPRIN, 5F7, TCSF, and the OK blood group antigen, basigin is a transmembrane immunoglobulin superfamily protein enriched on the surface of tumor cells and implicated in cancer metastasis, inflammation, and immune response.

The assay provides a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 33pg/mL. Precision values are reported as an intra-assay CV of 3.8% and an inter-assay CV of 7.1%. Spike-and-recovery performance is 88% (range 82-94%) in serum and 90% (range 84-96%) in plasma, with linearity spanning dilution factors of 1:2 to 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples.

The kit recognises natural and recombinant human basigin and is intended for research use only. It falls within the Cancer research area, supporting studies into extracellular matrix metalloproteinase induction, cell adhesion, migration, and tumor progression.
