Human Basic Salivary Proline Rich Protein 4 (PRB4) ELISA Kit

The PRB4 gene on chromosome 12p13.2 encodes a basic salivary proline-rich glycoprotein that is highly expressed in human parotid and submandibular glands and secreted into whole saliva, where it contributes to oral lubrication, binds dietary polyphenols such as tannins, and helps regulate calcium phosphate homeostasis on tooth enamel. Researchers use this Assay Genie immunoassay to quantify PRB4 levels when investigating oral host defense mechanisms, dental caries risk, xerostomia, salivary gland dysfunction, taste perception, and protein–polyphenol interactions.
