Band 3, also known as AE1 or SLC4A1, is an erythrocyte membrane glycoprotein that exchanges chloride and bicarbonate anions, supporting carbon dioxide transport in peripheral tissues and regulating intracellular pH. Defects in this transporter are linked to hereditary spherocytosis, Southeast Asian ovalocytosis, and distal renal tubular acidosis, making quantitative measurement relevant for hematology and membrane transport research.

The Assay Genie kit provides a microplate pre-coated with anti-Band 3 capture antibodies, together with biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and calibrated recombinant standards.
