Description

From Assay Genie, this is a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative detection of Human Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 2, also referred to as cIAP-1, BIRC2, hIAP-2, C-IAP1, RING finger protein 48, TNFR2-TRAF-signaling complex protein 2, and Inhibitor of apoptosis protein 2. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples. Compatible sample types include serum and plasma, with one source additionally listing cell culture supernatants, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The kit is intended for research use only and the target protein functions as a multi-functional regulator of caspases, apoptosis, inflammatory signaling, NF-kappa-B signaling, innate immunity via pattern recognition receptors, and cell cycle progression, acting in part as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Subcellular localization includes the cytoplasm and nucleus, with redistribution to the cytoplasm upon induction of apoptotic pathways.

Performance characteristics quoted from the sources include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 34 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.4%, and serum recovery averaging 94% (range 88-100) with plasma recovery averaging 96% (range 90-102). Linearity in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is reported between 87% and 120%. A separate PharmaGenie format (SBRS0423) quotes a quantitative range and sensitivity of 1.65 ng/mL, with a recommended 5-fold dilution of samples prior to assay. The assay is categorized for cancer research applications.

Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 2, with the UniProt accession Q13490 and NCBI Gene ID 329. Storage recommendations across sources include -20°C for longer term and 4°C for shorter term stability, with shipping at +4°C internationally.
