Human BACE-1 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit (SBRS0294)

BACE-1, also called Beta-Secretase 1 or memapsin-2, is the type I transmembrane aspartyl protease that performs the rate-limiting cleavage of amyloid precursor protein, releasing the amyloid-beta peptides that accumulate in Alzheimer's disease plaques. The Assay Genie BACE-1 immunoassay is intended for neuroscience and neurodegenerative disease research, enabling quantitative measurement of human BACE-1 protein levels across drug discovery workflows including secretase inhibitor screening and characterization of neuronal cell-line models. The microplate workflow uses approximately 100 µL of sample per well, with reagents provided for one full plate of determinations. Unopened kit components should be kept refrigerated per the package insert; reconstituted standards and working detection antibody should be aliquoted into single-use vials to limit repeated freeze-thaw exposure. Researchers apply this kit to supernatant from cultured cells, plasma samples, serum samples, and tissue homogenate preparations to compare baseline BACE-1 expression against disease-state or treatment-induced changes in vitro.
