Built around pre-coated 96-well microplate strips and a matched pair of capture and detection antibodies, this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie delivers results via HRP-catalyzed TMB conversion, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Azurocidin 1 (AZU1), also termed CAP37 (cationic antimicrobial protein of 37 kDa), is a 37 kDa serine-protease homolog stored in neutrophil azurophilic granules and secretory vesicles; plasma concentrations above 15 ng/mL have been associated with septic shock, with proposed cut-offs near 19.8 ng/mL for early risk stratification and 30 ng/mL for progression to severe sepsis. Published AZU1 Sandwich ELISA evaluations report assay ranges around 0.312–20 ng/mL, with intra- and inter-assay coefficients of variation generally under 10% and 12%, respectively. Serum or plasma samples are commonly prepared by centrifugation at 3000 x g for 10 min at room temperature; aliquoted samples are stable when stored frozen at -20 °C and should avoid more than three freeze-thaw cycles. All kit components should be refrigerated at 2-8 °C and protected from light, and reconstituted standards remain stable through the kit's stated shelf life. The kit is configured for 96 assays and is intended for research use only, supporting biomarker research in sepsis, acute inflammation, and neutrophil activation studies.
