Description

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human ATP-sensitive inward rectifier potassium channel 10 (KCNJ10), also referred to as Kir4.1. The assay uses colorimetric detection and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. It specifically recognises natural and recombinant human KCNJ10.

Reported performance specifications include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.082 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.2% and inter-assay CV is 10.5%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (104–116%, 103–114%, 107–118%, 99–107% at dilutions 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 respectively), EDTA plasma (96–108%, 107–117%, 107–119%, 91–101%) and heparin plasma (84–92%, 89–99%, 101–111%, 89–99%). Spike-and-recovery testing gave an average of 106% (range 100–112%) for serum and 108% (range 102–114%) for plasma.

KCNJ10 is an inward rectifier potassium channel thought to contribute to potassium buffering by glial cells in the brain, and its dysfunction has been associated with neurological disorders such as epilepsy, ataxia and migraine. The UniProt entry for this target is P78508. This kit is intended for research use only, in applications such as signal transduction studies.
