Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich-format ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of Human Aspartyl/asparaginyl beta-hydroxylase (ASPH) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, using a colorimetric readout. ASPH is a key enzyme involved in the post-translational modification of proteins and plays a critical role in cell proliferation, migration and invasion; its dysregulation has been linked to various diseases including cancer, making it a valuable biomarker for disease-progression research.

The assay has a reported detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.053 ng/mL. Precision is stated as an intra-assay CV of 4.0% and an inter-assay CV of 7.5%. Linearity in serum (N=5) is reported across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 at 88–97%, 102–112%, 109–119% and 89–99% respectively, with comparable ranges for EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Mean recovery is 94% (88–100%) in serum and 96% (90–102%) in plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human ASPH and is for research use only.

The associated UniProt entry is Q12797, and ASPH is annotated within the cardiovascular research area. Isoform 8 acts as a membrane-bound Ca(2+)-sensing protein that is a structural component of ER–plasma membrane junctions and regulates the activity of Ca(2+) release-activated Ca(2+) (CRAC) channels in T-cells.
