Description
From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of human Asialoglycoprotein receptor 1 (ASGR1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay specifically recognises natural and recombinant human ASGR1, a transmembrane receptor that mediates the endocytosis of plasma glycoproteins whose terminal sialic acid residues have been removed, binding terminal galactose and N-acetylgalactosamine units before the complex is internalised and the receptor returns to the cell membrane.
Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL. The intra-assay CV is 5.4% and the inter-assay CV is 8.9%. Linearity has been validated in serum (N=5), EDTA plasma (N=5) and heparin plasma (N=5) across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery averages 116% (range 110-120%) in serum and 118% (range 112-120%) in plasma. The kit falls within the immunology research area and is intended for research use only.
ASGR1 plays a critical role in serum glycoprotein homeostasis, and its dysregulation has been linked to liver diseases including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, making this kit a relevant tool for studies of hepatic function and glycoprotein metabolism. Synonyms referenced for the target include C-type lectin domain family 4 member H1, Hepatic lectin H1, HL-1, ASGP-R 1 and CLEC4H1.
