Quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie for measuring human asialoglycoprotein receptor 1 (ASGR1) in research samples. ASGR1 is a C-type lectin receptor predominantly expressed on the sinusoidal surface of hepatocytes, where it binds terminal galactose and N-acetylgalactosamine residues on desialylated glycoproteins and drives their endocytic clearance from circulation.

Researchers apply this kit to hepatic biology questions, including glycoprotein turnover, hepatitis B uptake into hepatocytes, and liver disease mechanisms such as fibrosis and hepatocellular injury. It also supports metabolic and cardiovascular studies, as ASGR1 has emerged as a therapeutic target for lowering plasma cholesterol and other non-HDL lipid fractions in humans.
