Human Artemin (ARTN) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of human artemin (ARTN) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Manufactured by Assay Genie, the assay is reactive with human samples and uses a colorimetric detection method.

According to the manufacturer datasheet, the detection range spans 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 7.94 pg/mL. Reported precision values are 5.2% intra-assay CV and 7.5% inter-assay CV. Average recovery is 99% (range 93-105%) for serum and 101% (range 95-107%) for plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human artemin.

Artemin is a secreted ligand of the GFR-alpha-3-RET receptor complex that can also activate the GFR-alpha-1-RET receptor complex. It supports the survival of sensory and sympathetic peripheral neurons in culture as well as dopaminergic neurons of the ventral mid-brain, and acts as a strong attractant of gut hematopoietic cells, promoting the formation of Peyer's patch-like structures. It is a member of the TGF-beta family (GDNF subfamily), with a reported molecular weight of 23,616 Da. The kit is for research use only.
