Description

A high-quality sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human androgen receptor (AR) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The double antibody format uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody and an HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Sensitivity is 0.188 ng/mL with a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL, and reactivity is human (Uniprot P10275), within the research area of epigenetics and nuclear signalling.

The assay procedure involves a 90-minute primary incubation at 37 °C, followed by biotin-labelled antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, and TMB substrate development in the dark for 10–20 minutes. After adding stop solution, absorbance is measured at 450 nm and target concentration is calculated from a standard curve. Recommended additional equipment includes a 37 °C incubator, plate reader with 450 nm filter, precision pipettes, and distilled water.

Kit components include a dismountable pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standard, concentrated biotin-labelled antibody, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate (SABC, 100X), TMB substrate, sample dilution buffer, antibody dilution buffer, SABC dilution buffer, stop solution, 25X wash buffer, plate sealer, and a technical manual. The androgen receptor is a key regulator of male sex hormone activity involved in processes such as muscle growth, bone density, and sexual function, with dysregulation linked to prostate cancer, male infertility, and androgen insensitivity syndrome.
