Human Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) ELISA Kit

Developed by Assay Genie for research use, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the precise quantification of human Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. Aquaporin-4 is a water-selective channel protein predominantly expressed in the brain, where it plays a vital role in regulating water transport in the central nervous system. Its dysregulation has been linked to neurological disorders including multiple sclerosis and neuromyelitis optica, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions.

The assay uses ELISA-based detection with reactivity to human samples, and specificity is reported for both natural and recombinant human Aquaporin-4. Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.098ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is given as 7.3% CV, with inter-assay precision at 9.9% CV.

Validated sample types include serum and plasma, with EDTA plasma and heparin plasma also tested during linearity assessment. In serum (N=5), dilutional linearity is reported at 94-106% (1:2), 89-102% (1:4), 92-103% (1:8), and 107-117% (1:16). EDTA plasma (N=5) shows 106-116%, 83-83%, 94-104%, and 93-93% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma (N=5) reports 87-97%, 94-104%, 101-111%, and 85-98%. Average recovery is 85% (range 80-91%) for serum and 87% (range 81-93%) for plasma.
