Human Apolipoprotein M (APOM) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantification of human apolipoprotein M (APOM) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is specific for natural and recombinant human apolipoprotein M, intended for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 2.5-160ng/mL and a sensitivity of 1.1ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.0% and an inter-assay CV of 7.6%. Linearity was evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, and recovery was measured in serum (average 84%, range 80-90%) and plasma (average 86%, range 80-92%) sample matrices.

Apolipoprotein M is described as probably involved in lipid transport, with the capacity to bind sphingosine-1-phosphate, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, retinol, all-trans-retinoic acid, and 9-cis-retinoic acid. The protein is present in high density lipoprotein (HDL) and to a lesser extent in triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TGRLP) and low density lipoproteins (LDL), and is relevant to research into lipid metabolism, cholesterol homeostasis, and related cardiovascular and metabolic disease studies.
