Human Apolipoprotein D ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA, double antibody kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of apolipoprotein D in human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The detection method is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Reported sensitivity is 0.375 ng/mL and the assay range is 0.625–40 ng/mL. The target protein, apolipoprotein D, is described as a component of lipid metabolism and cholesterol transport, associated with neuroprotection, aging and lipid homeostasis, and with dysregulation linked to Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and cardiovascular disorders, making it a potential biomarker for disease diagnosis and prognosis.

The assay follows a six-step protocol: reagent and plate preparation; primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes; biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes; HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes; TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes; and a stop reaction before absorbance measurement. The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months, falls within the signal transduction research area, and targets the protein annotated under Uniprot P05090, with synonyms including Apo D and APOD.
