Description

Developed by Assay Genie as a Sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of human Apolipoprotein CI (APOC1), this kit uses a colorimetric, double-antibody format. It is intended for research use and has been validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types. Research applications include studies of lipid metabolism, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, and Alzheimer's disease.

Key performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 5.625 ng/mL and a working range of 9.375–600 ng/mL. Linear dilution behaviour has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 in serum (85–104%, 92–97%, 89–105%), EDTA plasma (92–97%, 90–101%, 83–100%) and heparin plasma (83–96%, 83–94%, 87–101%). Recovery averages 95% in serum, 93% in EDTA plasma and 96% in heparin plasma. The target corresponds to Uniprot entry P02654 and the kit is classified within the Cell Biology research area. Synonyms recorded for the analyte include ApoC1, Apolipoprotein C1, Apolipoprotein C-I and Apo-C1.

The protocol begins with equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, loading standards, samples and a zero control onto the pre-coated plate, and incubating at 37°C for antigen binding. A biotin-labelled detection antibody is then applied at 37°C, followed by HRP-Streptavidin (SABC), TMB development in the dark for approximately 10–20 minutes, addition of stop solution and absorbance reading at 450 nm. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C, protected from direct light, with components remaining stable under these conditions for up to 12 months.
