Description
Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit for the quantitative measurement of human Apolipoprotein C-IV (APOC4), also referred to as Apolipoprotein C4 or Apo-CIV. APOC4 is described as a key protein involved in lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health, with suggested relevance to conditions such as hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis, and is thought to participate in lipoprotein metabolism. The kit is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and supports research in the signal transduction area. The protein is a secreted, lipid-binding member of the apolipoprotein family with a molecular weight of 14,553 Da, mapped to chromosome 19q13.2 (UniProt P55056).
Quantitative performance includes a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 10 pg/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 5.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.5%. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Apolipoprotein C-IV and is for research use only.
Linearity was demonstrated at sample dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. For serum (N=5), recovery ranged across 101–110%, 94–104%, 105–114% and 103–112%; for EDTA plasma (N=5), 109–118%, 89–98%, 112–122% and 100–110%; and for heparin plasma (N=5), 103–113%, 80–91%, 108–119% and 101–110%. Spike-and-recovery testing showed an average serum recovery of 94% (range 88–100%) and an average plasma recovery of 96% (range 90–102%).
