Human Apolipoprotein C-III (APOC3) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the measurement of human Apolipoprotein C-III (APOC3) in serum and plasma samples, intended for research use only. The assay has a stated range of 2.35-150 ng/mL and uses a pre-coated 96 well plate with all necessary reagents supplied. Detection is colorimetric, with TMB substrate added and the reaction read as O.D. absorbance at 450 nm.

APOC3 is encoded by NCBI Gene ID 345 and corresponds to UniProt entry P02656, with a molecular weight of 10,852 Da. The protein inhibits lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase, decreases the uptake of lymph chylomicrons by hepatic cells, and therefore delays the catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles. Defects in APOC3 are associated with hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 2 (HALP2), a condition characterized by high HDL and elevated HDL cholesterol.
