Human Apolipoprotein B-100 (APOB) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Apolipoprotein B-100 (APOB) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Apolipoprotein B-100 (UniProt P04114). APOB is a major protein constituent of chylomicrons (apo B-48), LDL (apo B-100) and VLDL (apo B-100), and apo B-100 functions as a recognition signal for the cellular binding and internalisation of LDL particles by the apoB/E receptor. Elevated APOB levels are linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, making the kit a useful tool for cardiovascular research.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 20 pg/mL, and a colorimetric ELISA read-out. Intra-assay CV is 5.4% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Mean recovery is 94% for serum (range 88-100%) and 96% for plasma (range 90-102%). Linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in serum (99-109% to 110-120%), EDTA plasma (104-116% to 85-96%) and heparin plasma (96-106% to 89-101%).
