Human Apolipoprotein (a) (LPA) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative detection of human Apolipoprotein (a) (LPA) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Apolipoprotein(a) and is intended for research use only.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 3.9-250ng/mL and a sensitivity of 1.2ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 4.2% and inter-assay CV at 8.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Average recovery is 96% in serum (range 90-102%) and 98% in plasma (range 92-104%).

Apolipoprotein(a), also known as Apo(a), is the main constituent of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) and has serine proteinase activity. The protein (UniProt P08519) is disulfide-linked to apo-B100 and binds to fibronectin and decorin, with a reported molecular weight of 280,000-700,000. Elevated Lp(a) levels are linked to atherosclerosis and are relevant to lipid metabolism and cardiovascular disease research.
