The assay is intended for human samples. It is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit uses a sandwich ELISA format with double-antibody detection, and components should be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

Linearity has been demonstrated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. Recovery ranges are also reported for the same sample types.
