The kit provides reagents sufficient for 96 determinations and targets the human ApoE2 protein, which carries cysteine residues at positions 112 and 158 and is the isoform most strongly associated with type III hyperlipoproteinemia and altered LDL receptor binding relative to the more common E3 variant.
