Description

Assay Genie's Human Apelin 17 ELISA Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay designed for the quantitative measurement of apelin-17, a bioactive peptide implicated in the regulation of cardiovascular function, energy metabolism, and angiogenesis. The kit is intended for research applications related to cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and diabetes, and uses a coated antigen format with colorimetric detection. It is reactive with human samples and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types. Storage is at 2-8°C in sealed packaging; the kit should not be cryopreserved.

Linearity has been validated in serum (n=10) at 85-104% (1:2), 82-95% (1:4), and 82-97% (1:8); in EDTA plasma (n=10) at 94-102% (1:2), 92-101% (1:4), and 85-96% (1:8); and in heparin plasma (n=10) at 87-104% (1:2), 82-101% (1:4), and 85-99% (1:8). Recovery ranges were 87-99% (average 92%) for serum, 92-100% (average 98%) for EDTA plasma, and 86-104% (average 92%) for heparin plasma.

The procedure involves equilibrating TMB substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature, adding 50 µL of standard or sample and 50 µL of biotin-labeled antibody per well, incubating at 37°C for 45 minutes, washing, adding TMB substrate for 10-20 minutes at 37°C in the dark, stopping the reaction, and reading absorbance at 450 nm. Apelin-17 is also referenced under the synonym AP17 and is associated with UniProt entry P53680 within the cell biology research area.
