Human ANGPTL6/Angiopoietin Like6 ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human angiopoietin-like 6 (ANGPTL6) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with absorbance read at 450 nm and employs a double-antibody sandwich configuration. ANGPTL6 is described as a protein involved in regulating lipid metabolism and insulin sensitivity, and is presented as a biomarker for research into metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and a measuring range of 1.563–100 ng/mL. Linearity was evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n=5) at serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. Reported ranges were 87–99%, 91–96% and 82–86% for serum; 85–101%, 82–99% and 85–94% for EDTA plasma; and 89–101%, 82–101% and 86–100% for heparin plasma. Recovery in serum averaged 93% (range 85–105%), EDTA plasma averaged 94% (range 86–105%), and heparin plasma averaged 93% (range 87–102%).

The procedure involves equilibrating reagents to room temperature and loading standards, samples and blanks onto the pre-coated plate for a 90-minute incubation at 37°C. A biotin-labelled detection antibody is then added for 60 minutes at 37°C, followed by 30 minutes with HRP-Streptavidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added and incubated in the dark for 10–20 minutes before the stop solution and absorbance reading at 450 nm. Unopened kit components are intended for storage at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.
