Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) is a 496-amino acid secreted glycoprotein that binds the endothelial Tie2 receptor and acts as a context-dependent antagonist of Angiopoietin-1 signaling, driving vessel destabilization, sprouting angiogenesis, and vascular inflammation.
