Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Angiogenin (ANG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay recognises both natural and recombinant human Angiogenin and offers a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 5.7 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 5.9% and inter-assay CV at 9.2%.

Linearity has been validated for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilution ratios of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, with sample recovery ranges of 85–97% for serum and 87–99% for plasma. Angiogenin, also known as Ribonuclease 5 / RNase 5, is a 16,550 Da secreted protein encoded by the ANG gene at chromosomal location 14q11.1-q11.2 (UniProt P03950). The protein binds to actin on the surface of endothelial cells, undergoes endocytosis and translocates to the nucleus where it accumulates in the nucleolus and stimulates ribosomal RNA synthesis. Angiogenin induces vascularization of normal and malignant tissues, functions as a tRNA-specific ribonuclease that cleaves tRNA within anticodon loops to produce tiRNAs, exhibits antimicrobial activity, and forms a homodimer. Defects in ANG are associated with susceptibility to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis type 9 (ALS9).

The ELISA workflow follows a standard sandwich format with absorbance measurement at 450 nm. Detailed sample preparation protocols are supplied for serum, plasma, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, cell culture supernatant, cell lysates, tissue homogenates, tissue lysates, and breast milk. For research use only.
