Human Androgen receptor (AR) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the precise measurement of androgen receptor levels in human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It targets the human Androgen receptor (AR), also known by the synonyms Dihydrotestosterone receptor, Nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 4, DHTR, and NR3C4, with specificity for natural and recombinant human Androgen receptor (UniProt P10275).

The kit uses ELISA-based detection methodology and reports a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL, with intra-assay CV of 3.2% and inter-assay CV of 6.4%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum (N=5) at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions returning 100-112%, 85-95%, 98-107% and 100-112%, respectively, with EDTA plasma and heparin plasma showing similar reported ranges. Recovery is reported at 104 (range 98-110) for serum and 106 (range 100-112) for plasma.

The androgen receptor is described as a nuclear hormone receptor and transcription factor that regulates gene expression and affects cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues; it is predominantly cytoplasmic in unligated form but translocates to the nucleus upon ligand-binding. Dysregulation of the androgen receptor has been implicated in prostate cancer, androgen insensitivity syndrome, and other hormonal disorders, making this kit applicable to research in endocrinology, oncology and reproductive health.
