The Assay Genie Human Amyloid Beta Peptide 1-40 (Ab1-40) ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of the Aβ1-40 peptide in human research specimens. Aβ1-40 is the predominant amyloid-beta isoform present in peripheral circulation, and its concentration, together with the Aβ1-42/Aβ1-40 ratio, is widely studied as a candidate biomarker of Alzheimer's disease progression and amyloidogenic processing.

The assay supports investigations of beta-secretase and gamma-secretase activity in vitro, screening of compounds that modulate amyloid production, and quantification of Aβ1-40 release from cultured cells.
