Human Amyloid Beta 42/AB 1-42 ELISA Kit

This sandwich double-antibody ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Amyloid Beta 42 (AB 1-42) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The microplate is pre-coated with a capture antibody specific to the target protein. Standards and appropriately diluted samples are added to the wells and incubated, allowing the target analyte to bind. After washing, a biotinylated detection antibody specific to a different epitope is added, forming a sandwich complex. HRP-conjugated Streptavidin is then added, followed by TMB substrate to produce a colourimetric reaction. The reaction is terminated with an acidic solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm using a microplate reader. Signal intensity is directly proportional to analyte concentration, determined via a standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is 2.813 pg/mL with a standard curve range of 4.688–300 pg/mL. Spiked recovery (n = 5) is 90–103% (average 95%) in serum, 88–97% (average 93%) in EDTA plasma, and 85–97% (average 91%) in heparin plasma. The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. The kit has been cited in published research on Alzheimer's disease biomarkers and Mild Cognitive Impairment, including studies on exercise and cognitive training, melatonin- and donepezil-based hybrids, the VRADA training system, and Greek pomegranate seed oil on N2a neuroblastoma cells.
