Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the precise, colorimetric measurement of human aminopeptidase N (ANPEP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit detects both natural and recombinant human aminopeptidase N and is supplied for research use only.

The assay has a reported detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.085ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 7.7% and an inter-assay CV of 9.0%. Dilutional linearity was characterised in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with average recovery of 84% (80-90%) in serum and 86% (80-92%) in plasma.

Aminopeptidase N (also known as alanyl aminopeptidase, aminopeptidase M, microsomal aminopeptidase, CD13, APN and PEPN) is involved in protein digestion, immune response and cell signalling, and altered levels are linked to cancer, inflammatory disorders and kidney disease. The protein is a single-pass type II membrane protein located at the cell membrane and also exists as a soluble form. It acts as a receptor for human coronavirus 229E (HCoV-229E) and mediates human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection. The associated UniProt entry is P15144, and the kit is intended for cardiovascular research applications.
