Assay Genie's PharmaGenie ELISA for human Aminoacylase-1 (ACY1) is built to quantify this cytosolic zinc-dependent deacylase in cell culture supernatant, plasma, and serum using a paired-antibody capture format with an enzyme-linked reporter.

ACY1 hydrolyzes N-acetyl-L-amino acids to yield free L-amino acids, and circulating ACY1 measurements support research on inherited ACY1 deficiency, an autosomal-recessive aminoacidopathy associated with neurological presentation and elevated urinary N-acetyl amino acid excretion.
