Human Amine oxidase [flavin-containing] B (MAOB) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Amine oxidase [flavin-containing] B (MAOB), also referred to as Monoamine oxidase type B or MAO-B. MAOB is a flavin-containing enzyme located on the mitochondrial outer membrane that catalyses the oxidative deamination of biogenic and xenobiotic amines, preferentially degrading benzylamine and phenylethylamine.

The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It detects natural and recombinant human MAOB across a range of 0.156-10ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.056ng/mL. Reported precision is an intra-assay CV of 4.3% and an inter-assay CV of 6.8%. Linearity has been demonstrated across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, with serum values ranging from 80% to 114%, EDTA plasma from 91% to 115% and heparin plasma from 96% to 118%. Mean recovery is 88% (range 82-94%) in serum and 90% (range 84-96%) in plasma.

MAOB plays a role in neurotransmitter regulation and the oxidative stress response, with dysregulation linked to neurological disorders including Parkinson's disease and depression, making the kit relevant to neuroscience research. The product is intended for research use only.
