Human Amine oxidase [flavin-containing] A (MAOA) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative detection of human Amine oxidase [flavin-containing] A (MAOA), also referred to as Monoamine oxidase type A or MAO-A. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, recognising both natural and recombinant forms of the target.

Quoted performance specifications include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.093ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.9% and inter-assay CV is 7.3%. Dilution linearity has been demonstrated in serum (99-108% at 1:2 down to 81-91% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (105-117% down to 102-111%) and heparin plasma (97-108% down to 90-100%). Recovery falls within 80-85% for serum and 80-87% for plasma.

MAOA is located on the mitochondrial outer membrane and catalyzes the oxidative deamination of biogenic and xenobiotic amines, preferentially oxidizing biogenic amines such as 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), norepinephrine and epinephrine. The kit is intended for research use only within neuroscience applications, with kit components stored at -20°C or 4°C as indicated.
