The SCNN1G gene encodes the gamma subunit of the amiloride-sensitive epithelial sodium channel (ENaC), assembling with alpha and beta subunits to form a heterotrimeric channel that mediates sodium reabsorption across apical membranes of kidney, airway, and colonic epithelium.

Dysregulation of ENaC is implicated in Liddle's syndrome, pseudohypoaldosteronism type I, salt-sensitive hypertension, and altered airway surface liquid volume in cystic fibrosis. Investigators apply this Assay Genie kit to quantify gamma subunit protein levels in renal, pulmonary, and gastrointestinal tissue homogenates, supporting studies of fluid balance, electrolyte homeostasis, and respiratory disease mechanisms.

The microplate format includes all reagents required for the workflow, with the standard and detection antibody supplied in individual vials. Standard curve measurements generate quantitative results across the calibrated range, and the kit is supplied for research use only in laboratory settings.
