Human Amelogenin, X isoform (AMELX) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Amelogenin, X isoform (AMELX; synonyms AMG, AMGX) in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a reported detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1ng/ml. Reported precision is an intra-assay CV of 5.3% and an inter-assay CV of 8.4%, with serum recovery averaging 96% (range 90-102%) and plasma recovery averaging 98% (range 92-104%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Amelogenin, X isoform (UniProt Q99217).

AMELX is a secreted extracellular matrix protein involved in biomineralization. It is thought to regulate the formation of crystallites during the secretory stage of tooth enamel development and to play a major role in the structural organization and mineralization of developing enamel. Defects in AMELX are linked to amelogenesis imperfecta type 1E, an X-linked defect of dental enamel formation, making the protein a relevant biomarker for research into dental development, tooth repair and oral health conditions.
