Human Alpha-tocopherol transfer protein (TTPA) ELISA Kit

The kit from Assay Genie is a sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative detection of human Alpha-tocopherol transfer protein (TTPA). It is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with detection by a colorimetric method and absorbance read at 450 nm.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.054 ng/mL. Reported precision values are 4.1% for intra-assay CV and 8.6% for inter-assay CV. Average recovery is 96% in serum (range 90–102%) and 98% in plasma (range 92–104%). Linearity was assessed across serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.

TTPA is a cytoplasmic protein (UniProt P49638) of approximately 32 kDa that binds alpha-tocopherol, enhances its transfer between membranes and stimulates its release from liver cells. The assay recognises both natural and recombinant human Alpha-tocopherol transfer protein. Synonyms for the target include Alpha-TTP and TPP1, and the human gene is located at chromosomal region 8q12.3.
