Human Alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative detection of human Alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR), also known as 2-methylacyl-CoA racemase. AMACR catalyses the racemization of 2-methyl-branched fatty acid CoA esters and the conversion of pristanoyl-CoA and C27-bile acyl-CoAs to their (S)-stereoisomers, and has been linked to prostate cancer and other diseases. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human AMACR (UniProt Q9UHK6), with reported subcellular localisation in peroxisome and mitochondrion, and is intended for cardiovascular research.

The kit is for research use only and is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56-100 ng/mL, sensitivity of 0.79 ng/mL, intra-assay CV of 5.2% and inter-assay CV of 9.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions for serum (81-116%), EDTA plasma (81-116%) and heparin plasma (89-113%). Recovery is 98% (range 92-104%) in serum and 100% (range 94-106%) in plasma.
