Human Alpha-hemoglobin-stabilizing protein (AHSP) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Alpha-hemoglobin-stabilizing protein (AHSP) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit is intended for research use only.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056ng/mL, with intra-assay CV of 5.1% and inter-assay CV of 9.2%. Recovery in serum averages 101% (range 95-107%) and in plasma 103% (range 97-109%). Linearity has been evaluated at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Detection is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

AHSP (also known as Erythroid differentiation-related factor / Erythroid-associated factor; gene symbol AHSP; UniProt Q9NZD4) functions as a cytoplasmic chaperone that prevents aggregation of free alpha-hemoglobin during erythroid cell development and is predicted to modulate pathological states of alpha-hemoglobin excess such as beta-thalassemia. The protein acts as a monomer that forms a heterodimer with free alpha-hemoglobin and does not bind beta-hemoglobin or alpha(2)beta(2) hemoglobin A. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human AHSP.
