A quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie for measuring Alpha-Hemoglobin Stabilizing Protein (aHSP) in human specimens. Alpha-hemoglobin stabilizing protein, also called AHSP or erythroid-associated factor, acts as a molecular chaperone that binds free alpha-globin chains during hemoglobin A assembly, preventing their precipitation and limiting oxidative damage in developing erythroid cells. The kit supports research into beta-thalassemia, sickle cell disease, hemoglobinopathy mechanisms, and red blood cell maturation pathways, where dysregulated alpha-globin levels drive pathology. Investigators studying erythropoiesis, oxidative stress responses in red cell precursors, or screening compound libraries for modulators of globin chain balance can apply this kit across human sample matrices including tissue homogenates, lysed erythroid cells, and conditioned media from cultured progenitors. Each pack provides reagents sufficient for 96 assays, with quantification performed by absorbance measurement on a standard microplate reader after enzymatic substrate conversion. The kit is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or clinical decision-making. Unopened components are stored at refrigerated temperature, and reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles that degrade capture antibodies.
