Alpha-galactosidase A is a critical lysosomal enzyme that hydrolyses the terminal alpha-galactosyl moieties from glycolipids and glycoproteins, including globotriaosylceramide (Gb3). Deficiencies in this enzyme lead to the accumulation of Gb3 in tissues, causing Fabry disease, a rare X-linked sphingolipidosis. Monitoring alpha-galactosidase A levels is therefore valuable for research into Fabry disease, lysosomal storage disorders, lipid metabolism, and lysosomal function.

The kit detects natural and recombinant human Alpha-galactosidase A with a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.04 ng/mL. Reported precision values are 3.9% intra-assay CV and 7.1% inter-assay CV. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across multiple dilutions, with serum recovery averaging 91% (range 85–97%) and plasma recovery averaging 93% (range 87–99%).
