Description

From Assay Genie, this colorimetric Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human CRYAA (Alpha-crystallin A chain) concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids, using a double-antibody method.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/ml and a detection range of 0.781-50 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery rates were 89-102% (average 97%) in serum, 86-101% (average 93%) in EDTA plasma and 90-101% (average 96%) in UFH plasma. Linearity in diluted spiked samples ranged from 80-105% across serum, EDTA plasma and UFH plasma, with intra-assay CV<8% and inter-assay CV<10%. The kit is supplied with a dismountable 8×12-strip microplate, lyophilised standard, sample/standard dilution buffer, biotin-labelled antibody, antibody dilution buffer, HRP-streptavidin conjugate (SABC), SABC dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, 25X wash buffer and plate sealer, and is intended to be stored at 4°C for 6 months. For research use only.

CRYAA (also known as Alpha-crystallin A chain, Heat shock protein beta-4, HspB4, CRYA1 or HSPB4) is a major structural protein of the eye lens and a member of the small heat shock protein (HSP20) family that acts as a molecular chaperone. Dysregulation has been linked to ocular diseases including cataracts and to neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. The gene is located on chromosome 21q22.3 (NCBI Gene ID: 1409; UniProt P02489), and defects in CRYAA are associated with Cataract 9, Multiple Types.
