Human Alpha-crystallin A chain (CRYAA) ELISA Kit

This sandwich-format ELISA from Assay Genie enables in vitro quantitative determination of human Alpha-crystallin A chain (CRYAA) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method, is reactive with human samples, and is supplied for research use only.

The target, CRYAA, is a major structural protein of the eye lens and a member of the small heat shock protein (sHSP/HSP20) family, contributing to the transparency and refractive index of the lens and exhibiting chaperone-like activity under stress conditions. Dysregulation has been linked to ocular diseases such as cataracts and to neurodegenerative conditions. Reported assay sensitivity is 0.23ng/mL with a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.9% and inter-assay CV is 11.2%. Recovery averages 102% in serum (range 96-108%) and 104% in plasma (range 98-110%), with linearity data provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at serial dilutions.
