Human Alpha-actinin-3 (ACTN3) ELISA Kit

The Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is intended for the quantitative detection of human Alpha-actinin-3 (ACTN3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Also referred to as alpha-actinin skeletal muscle isoform 3 or F-actin cross-linking protein, the analyte is captured with specificity validated for natural and recombinant human Alpha-actinin-3. The kit is supplied for research use only.

Performance is reported at a sensitivity of 4.1pg/mL across a detection range of 7.8-500pg/mL, with intra-assay CV of 4.2% and inter-assay CV of 7.1%. Linearity is given across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (110-120%, 105-115%, 96-104%, 100-112%), EDTA plasma (95-104%, 96-106%, 109-119%, 111-123%) and heparin plasma (110-119%, 108-118%, 102-111%, 97-109%). Recovery in serum averages 100% (94-106%) and plasma averages 102% (96-108%). Provided components include the dismountable microplate, lyophilized standard, assay diluents A and B, detection reagents A and B, sample diluent, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer.

Alpha-actinin-3 is described as an F-actin cross-linking protein and bundling protein that anchors actin to a variety of intracellular structures, belonging to the alpha-actinin family. The protein is involved in muscle function and performance, particularly in fast-twitch muscle fibers, and variations in the ACTN3 gene have been associated with athletic performance, muscle strength and muscle adaptation to exercise.
