Human Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (a2M) ELISA Kit

The assay reports a working range of 0.781-50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.37 ng/mL, with intra-assay precision of CV <10% and inter-assay precision of CV <12%.

A2M is a multifunctional protein involved in immune regulation, inflammation, and tissue repair, acting as a broad-spectrum protease inhibitor and also playing a role in the clearance of proteinases and growth factors. Dysregulation of A2M has been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, osteoarthritis, and cancer, making it a useful biomarker for research into disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic interventions. Recovery has been demonstrated in spiked matrices with averages of 91% in serum (n=5), 96% in EDTA plasma (n=5), and 94% in heparin plasma (n=5), and the kit is reported to lose less than 5% activity within the expiration date under appropriate storage conditions, with a stated shelf life of 12 months.
