The AHSG protein, commonly referred to as fetuin-A, is a 64 kDa plasma glycoprotein synthesized primarily by hepatocytes. It functions as a circulating inhibitor of ectopic calcification and participates in the regulation of insulin signaling, bone metabolism, and inflammatory responses. Quantification of AHSG in clinical and preclinical studies is relevant to research on metabolic syndrome, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and chronic kidney disease, where circulating levels serve as a candidate biomarker of hepatic function and insulin resistance.

This immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured to measure human AHSG across tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and several liquid clinical specimen types. Each kit contains reagents sufficient for 96 assays and follows a standard ELISA workflow with absorbance read on a standard microplate reader. Reagents are supplied in single-use vials for lot-to-lot consistency. The kit is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic procedures.
