Human Alpha-1A adrenergic receptor (ADRA1A) ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format ELISA from Assay Genie designed for quantitative detection of the Alpha-1A adrenergic receptor (ADRA1A) in human samples. The assay is reactive with human specimens and validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids.

Reported analytical performance includes a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.3% and inter-assay CV is 10.4%. Recovery has been characterised in serum (average 103%, range 97-109%) and plasma (average 105%, range 99-111%), with linearity assessed across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant human Alpha-1A adrenergic receptor.

ADRA1A is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates the effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline via G(q) and G(11) proteins and a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system; nuclear ADRA1A-ADRA1B heterooligomers regulate phenylephrine-stimulated ERK signalling in cardiac myocytes. Dysregulation of ADRA1A has been implicated in hypertension, heart failure and prostate cancer, making it a biomarker of interest in oncology and cardiovascular research.
