Alpha-1-B-Glycoprotein (a1BG) is a 54 kDa plasma glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, originally isolated from human serum and characterized as a heavily N-glycosylated, liver-derived protein with five potential glycosylation sites distributed across its 474 amino acid residues. Because circulating a1BG concentrations shift in several inflammatory, hepatic, and immune-related conditions, quantitative measurement of this protein has become a useful biomarker readout in clinical and translational research.

The Assay Genie Human a1BG ELISA Kit is built specifically to quantify endogenous a1BG in human-derived specimens, including serum, heparin plasma, EDTA plasma, and citrate plasma. Each kit ships with pre-coated microplate strips, detection antibody, lyophilized standards, substrate solution, and stop reagent sufficient for a complete quantification workflow. Researchers apply this kit to study a1BG expression patterns, hepatic function, acute-phase responses, and immunological regulation, producing quantitative concentration data from small-volume sample aliquots.

Standard laboratory handling involves equilibrating all reagents and prepared specimens to room temperature before use, preparing serial standard dilutions within the kit's working range, and running the substrate development step according to the enclosed protocol. Because the target is a stable circulating glycoprotein, prepared samples can be refrigerated for short-term use or frozen at -80 degrees C for longer biobanking without significant loss of measurable analyte. This kit is intended for research use only and has not been cleared for diagnostic procedures.
