Human Alpha-1-antitrypsin (SERPINA1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich-format colorimetric ELISA enables quantitative detection of human alpha-1-antitrypsin (SERPINA1), a serine protease inhibitor whose targets include elastase, plasmin, thrombin, trypsin, chymotrypsin and plasminogen activator. The protein plays a key physiological role in protecting the lower respiratory tract against proteolytic destruction by human leukocyte elastase (HLE), and disruption of its levels has been associated with lung diseases, liver disorders and inflammation.

Validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, the kit is specific for natural and recombinant human alpha-1-antitrypsin. Synonyms for the target include Alpha-1 protease inhibitor, Alpha-1-antiproteinase, Serpin A1, PRO0684, PRO2209, AAT and PI. The assay is intended for research use only.

Performance characteristics reported by the manufacturer include a detection range of 3.12-200ng/mL with a sensitivity of 1.2ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.7% and inter-assay CV is 5.6%. Serum linearity (N=5) is 86-98%, 105-114%, 90-100% and 100-112% at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 respectively. Average recovery is 99% (range 93-105%) for serum and 101% (range 95-107%) for plasma.
