Human Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (a1AT) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Human Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (a1AT) quantitative immunoassay supports research into SERPINA1 expression and A1AT deficiency-related pathophysiology. The ~52 kDa circulating serine protease inhibitor is best known for neutralizing neutrophil elastase, helping to maintain protease-antiprotease balance in the lung and other tissues. Reduced or dysfunctional A1AT is implicated in early-onset panacinar emphysema, neonatal and adult hepatic cirrhosis, and rare neutrophilic panniculitis, making accurate quantification valuable for biomarker discovery and pharmacodynamic monitoring of augmentation therapy. The microplate-based workflow relies on anti-human A1AT capture antibodies with high specificity for the native glycoprotein and minimal cross-reactivity with homologous serpins such as alpha-1-antichymotrypsin. Each kit provides sufficient reagents for one full microplate run, a sample volume of 50 µL per determination, and an assay incubation time of approximately 2.5 hours at room temperature, in vitro research use only.
