ALPPL2, the placental-like alkaline phosphatase, is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored ectoenzyme whose expression in normal tissue is largely confined to the placenta, with only trace signals in testis and thymus. Aberrant re-expression of this oncofetal antigen has been documented in testicular germ cell tumors, colorectal and gastric carcinomas, and several ovarian cancers, positioning it as a candidate biomarker in tumor biology and placental development studies. The Assay Genie Human ALPPL2 ELISA Kit supports quantitative measurement of this enzyme across human research specimens.

Each pack contains a pre-coated microplate and accessory reagents sized for 96 individual determinations. Validated sample matrices include tissue homogenates alongside a range of cell culture and tissue-derived research samples, and the chromogenic endpoint is captured on a standard plate reader at the wavelength specified in the product manual. The capture and detection antibody pair targets epitopes unique to the human ALPPL2 isoform, distinguishing it from the closely related placental, intestinal, and tissue-nonspecific alkaline phosphatase isoenzymes that often coexist in crude lysates.

Documented applications include tracking ALPPL2 induction during syncytiotrophoblast differentiation, monitoring germ cell tumor marker panels, and verifying knockdown efficiency in transfected cell lines. Unopened components are shipped at ambient temperature and should be moved to refrigerated storage upon arrival, with conjugate and standard vials protected from light until first use; reconstituted reagents remain stable for the interval printed on the lot-specific certificate of analysis.
